About the church
In the beginning, the Glorious Covenant Ministry...

Divinely Inspired by the Holy Ghost
The Holy Spirit Himself inspired the birth of the Glorious Covenant Ministry. The Church was born on a beautiful Sunday, October 16, 1994, at the VIP Lounge of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt; fondly referred to as “The Upper Room”, the gathering was spontaneously attended by over 120 brethren to worship the Lord God.
These brethren over time, sought direction from the Lord and distilled the name of the Church as “Glorious Covenant Church” with the vision statement of “Taking Jesus Christ to the Nations” (Luke 4:18-19) and a Ministry Motto, “The Lord our Righteousness” (Jer. 23:6).
The brethren then saddled the Elders among them with the responsibility of giving shape and direction to the vision and mission of this new move of God, working with the Holy Spirit as a guide.
These elders were eleven in total. The Elders were called the Elders Council of the Pioneer Church.
